Eligibility
The ELP™ certification is intentionally accessible and serves as the entry point into the ELA leadership certification pathway.
There is no minimum professional experience requirement.
Candidates may apply for certification through one of the following pathways:
Pathway 1
Participation in a leadership program delivered by an ELA Recommended Learning Partner (RLP).
Pathway 2
Completion of the ELA Introduction to Ethical Leadership on-demand course.
These preparation options ensure that all candidates share a foundational understanding of the ELA ethical leadership framework before undertaking the certification assessment.
The certification is open to professionals at any stage of their career, including emerging leaders, professionals working in collaborative environments, and students enrolled in leadership or management programs.
Maintaining the Certification
To maintain the ELP™ certification, certified professionals must complete:
• 30 hours of ethics-related continuing education every three years
• One reflective case study demonstrating ethical leadership practice
This ensures that certification holders continue developing their ethical leadership capability over time.
