    • US$249 after acceptance

    • US$199.20 for ELA members

  • Assessment: 

    • 35 open-response questions

  • Delivery: Online through the Aether platform from N2X Labs

  • Credential term: Three years

Eligibility

The ELP™ is intentionally accessible and serves as the entry credential in the ELA certification pathway. No minimum professional experience is required.

 

To become eligible, complete either of the following preparation pathways:

  • Pathway 1 — Recommended Learning Partner

Complete an eligible course or program delivered by an ELA Recommended Learning Partner (RLP).

  • Pathway 2 — ELA online course

Complete ELA’s Introduction to Ethical Leadership on-demand course.

 

ELA membership is not required. Submit a free application for eligibility review. After acceptance, pay the certification fee and schedule the assessment when invited.

The ELP™ Assessment

  • Format: 35 open-response questions completed online in 120 minutes through the Aether platform from N2X Labs.

  • Domain 1 — Foundations and Principles of Ethical Leadership: 30%

  • Domain 2 — Ethical Decision-Making and Application Across Contexts: 35%

  • Domain 3 — Structuring, Culture, and Measuring Ethical Leadership: 35%

  • Responses are evaluated against task-specific evidence indicators—not generic writing quality.

​​How does N2X Labs' Aether platform support the Assessment?

ELA experts define the domains, tasks, evidence requirements, scoring rubrics and decision standards. The Aether platform from N2X Labs delivers the assessment and analyzes responses consistently against those human-defined criteria. ELA remains the credentialing authority.

The ELP™ credential is valid for three years. To renew:

  • Complete 12 hours of professional development during the three-year cycle

  • Include at least 6 hours in ethics or ethical leadership

  • Submit one short reflective case study demonstrating continued application

No new examination is required under the current policy.
